5 Nerdy Christmas Present Ideas for 2013

The holiday season is my favorite. A time for fun, family and food. But between these fun-filled activities, we can’t forget our obligation to buy presents for our friends and family. This activity, although fun, can be very stressful. Here are some ideas for your nerdier friends (particularly your Star Wars friends).

1. Death Star Tea Infuser

Give your next tea party a taste of the Dark Side with this Death Star Tea Infuser. Made of stainless steel, it’s officially licensed by Lucasfilm, opens easily to let you fill it with loose leaf tea, and even features a TIE Fighter on chain for easy removal — no exhaust port trickery necessary. 2. Death Star Ice Mold

Hanging out on the planet Hoth all day can be boring. It’s basically a white desert with nothing but snow, robots, giant yeti monsters, and a half-finished movie theater. Troops stationed on Hoth get to see one, maybe two epic battles tops, otherwise they throw snowballs at each other and drink lots of cocoa. Yup, cocoa.

This all changed with the invention of the Death Star Ice Sphere Tray. Not only could they have fancy ice for cold beverages, they could make Death Star chocolate truffles, and even Death Star soap! And as a bonus, playing baseball on the planet Hoth has never been easier! It only takes a few minutes to create an irresponsibly dangerous baseball and, when the guns become useless from freezing, you’ve got a baseball bat! (source: thinkgeek)

3. Pi Bottle Opener

This mathematical bottle opener is sure to become an operational constant when you’re seeking liquid inspiration. It’s the brilliant creation of Brian Johnson, a designer and engineer who bridges the worlds of creativity and precision craftsmanship. The hefty steel form is calculated for optimum leverage, solving stubborn bottle tops with near-infinite ease. When not in use, it becomes a smart, sculptural accent or paperweight. For mathematicians, teachers and other brilliant minds, using anything else would simply be irrational. Made in the USA. (source: uncommon goods)

4. Zombie Survival Kit

Surviving the zombie apocalypse requires you to travel quickly and quietly, and that means packing light. You have to pick your tools wisely and keep them within reach at all times. (source: mankits)

5. Storm Trooper Robe

Look no further, for this Star Wars robe will transport you to a galaxy as exciting as your wildest dreams! You’ll glide gallantly into the out-of-this-world dreamland this R2D2-printed robe will inspire, all while sleeping soundly in its cozy, blue-and-white terry cloth material. Armed with this hooded piece’s mechanical-like accents, waist tie, and two front pockets, you can rest assured that your nighttime fantasies will be as thrilling as your favorite sci-fi flick!
