Unlikely Game of Thrones Friendships That Could Have Worked
With so many characters stretched across the vast universe of A Song of Ice and Fire, it is inevitable that some potential besties will never meet. While everyone would love to see Arya and Dany team up, or some more of Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister, this list focuses on a few characters with striking similarities that have yet to cross paths in the TV show but would probably end up getting along rather well.
Samwell Tarly and Tommen Baratheon
Aside from their obvious mild-mannered similarities, they both love kittens and have so far proven to be some of the most wholly good-hearted characters on the show due to a past of being bullied and coddled. Unfortunately they’re on entirely different ends of Westeros.
Arya Stark and Ygritte
Preferences for Jon Snow aside, these two both share the same fiery spirit and straightforward attitude that apparently Ned Stark’s bastard is drawn to.
Viserys Targaryen and Theon Greyjoy
Clearly these two both have some kind of Daddy issues. While Theon arguably has a few more redeeming qualities, they both feel that something is owed to them and go to extremes to prove they deserve what is rightfully theirs.
Yara (Asha) Greyjoy and Brienne of Tarth
Both of these highborn ladies are the only daughters of their family and grew up against the sea. Something must have been in the water because both turned out to be quite the warrior.
Osha and Shae
This may seem like a bit of a stretch. In appearance, they’re probably the furthest from a match. Shae is manicured and groomed, Osha could blend in with the forest. Despite being worlds apart, geographically and physically, they both ended up taking care of a Stark child, and they are both strong women who can fend for themselves and who have no connection to where they came from.
Ramsay Bolton and King Joffrey Baratheon
Torture. Evil. Murder. Do I really need to say any more?
